Grosgrain is a common fabric with elasticity in the warp direction on the market. Usually, nylon spandex elastic yarn is used for warp yarn, and rayon yarn is used for weft yarn. Conventional ribbons are mainly plain weave and twill weave. The outstanding feature is that the warp elasticity is particularly good, which is incomparable to weft elastic fabrics. Therefore, grosgrain fabrics are generally cut horizontally when used in clothing. Warp elastic is used as weft elastic, and most of them are pants. Printed grosgrain fabric is elastic and flexible, so it is often used in casual pants, beach pants and women's sports pants.

Common varieties:

• Floral grosgrain is made of plain weave, with fine double ply yarn as warp and thick triple ply yarn as weft;

• Yarn grosgrain is made of plain weave, warp and weft yarns are made of single yarn, and two weft yarns are woven into the same shed;

• Four rib grosgrain (or horizontal rib grosgrain) is made of plain weave with fine warp and coarse weft. Rib satin is glossy, with unique texture and thick hand feel. The output is also high when weaving. However, the strength difference between warp and weft is large, the warp is easy to break, and the shrinkage deformation of the fabric is large.
